While it is not impossible, it is highly unlikely that your current rep works for the card brands, directly. Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express do sign accounts directly, but these accounts are usually major, national chains like Target®, WalMart® and other merchants of that size.

Yes, they can. Rates and fees are established by the card brands. Rate increases occur across the entire industry, regardless of who you use to process. The only time your rates would change after signing up with Suppes Technology® is when the card brands increase their rates. At that time, these increases are passed through without upcharges.

Funds can be held for various reasons. The most common reasons are the type of business, the risk involved with that business, and most importantly, chargeback history. Suppes Technology® advocates for you, the merchant, with the processor and their sponsor bank to make sure that you have the best experience possible. This includes better rates, better customer service with more points of contact, and the assurance that we will do what we can to make sure that your reserve, if necessary, is fair and reasonable.

Yes. We have all those options available to you and will also ensure that you are compliant with the regulations and laws surrounding those services.

Yes. You are required by card brand regulation to respond to a chargeback retrieval request within 14 days of receipt. If you do not respond within that time frame, you will lose the opportunity to challenge that chargeback.

No, we do not. We believe that any service and support that we provide is so outstanding that you wouldn’t want to terminate your service with us. However, should you ever become unhappy with your service, we’d hope that you would give us the opportunity to correct the issue. If we cannot and you remain unhappy, then we do not believe that you should be penalized for that.

There are several factors in answering this question:

• Is your terminal either proprietary to or locked by your current processor? If so, then no. In this case, new equipment would be required, and Suppes Technology® can help you with the best solution.

• Is your current equipment compatible? Different processors utilize different software loads and languages. Sometimes these software packages are only written for specific Point of Sale equipment. Contact Suppes Technology® to find out if your current POS terminal is compatible.

• Is your current equipment compliant? The card brands have instituted an EMV requirement. This means that all terminals and card readers must be able to utilize the EMV chip on a cardholder’s payment card.

Yes. If your terminal or gateway account is settled by midnight, eastern time, your funds will be delivered to your bank the following morning.
